Purchased in 2017, the site presented numerous challenges, planning in geo technical and structure and construction. The pre design and design stages took just over a year and after a 6 month resource consent and building consenting process, construction began early in 2019, and completion ready for occupation in Dec 2019.
A decision was made early to adopt Xlam’s Cross Laminated Timber ( CLT ) which while added some cost and design issues, presented a more efficient construction process.
Landscaping has been a work in progress and has taken over 3 years ans could be said to be ongoing.
